February 21, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) released the latest installment ofRicketts Replies, where he responds on video to letters and emails from Nebraskans. This month, Ricketts addressed concerns from Cheryl in Blair about President Biden’s electric vehicle (EV) mandate.

“I couldn’t be more supportive of what your thoughts were with regard to the electric vehicle mandates the Biden administration is trying to force down upon us,” said Ricketts. “H.R. 2948 is also known as the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act, or the CARS Act for short. I’m actually a co-sponsor of the Senate version of this bill. It passed the House back in December and I hope we’ll have a chance to take it up in the Senate.”

“The EPA cannot continue to pick winners and losers,”said Ricketts. “The CARS Act ensures the Biden administration can’t prioritize their radical left agenda over affordable and reliable transportation. I’ll always fight for Nebraskans’ ability to choose what’s best for them and their families.”

Ricketts Replies was announced in the Senator’s weekly column at the beginning of this year. Each month, Ricketts will read and respond on camera to a sampling of letters from constituents. Issues will vary and responses will be featured on Ricketts’ social media accounts and website.
