Ricketts Votes to Protect Ratepayers from Rising Energy Costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) voted in support of the Ratepayer Protection Act and made the following statement:

“The Ratepayer Protection Act is a win-win for Nebraskans,” said Ricketts. “It would protect families’ wallets from rising energy costs. And it would help us stay ahead of Communist China in the AI race. Democrats once again blocked this bill and failed to stand up for Americans.”

Senator Ricketts is a cosponsor of the Ratepayer Protection Act introduced by Senator Jon Husted (R-OH).

On September 17, Senator Husted asked for unanimous consent to pass this bill. Democrats blocked it.

In July, the House of Representatives passed the Ratepayer Protection Act in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 417-3.
