Ricketts Statement on Biden’s State of the Union Address

March 7, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) issued the following statement commenting on President Biden’s State of the Union Address and Senator Katie Britt’s Republican response:

“President Biden’s State of the Union address was a viciously partisan campaign speech. He lives in compete denial of the disastrous impacts his failed policies have on the American people. The greatest threats to our democracy were created by Biden’s own choices: a catastrophe at our southern border, an appeasement-first foreign policy, and out-of-control costs of living.

“I’m proud of the hopeful, vibrant alternative offered by Senator Britt in the Republican response. Republicans are committed to securing our border, standing up for families hurt by inflation, and keeping Americans safe. Doing so is the only way to ensure we protect the American Dream for our children and grandchildren.”
