Ricketts Issues Statement Following Resignation of Nebraska State Treasurer, Appointment of New Treasurer

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) released the following statement following the resignation of Nebraska Treasurer Tom Briese and Governor Jim Pillen’s appointment of Joey Spellerberg as the new Treasurer:

“In the Nebraska Legislature, Tom Briese focused on delivering property tax relief.  As Treasurer, he delivered an improved state spending website and promoted financial literacy.  I appreciate his service to Nebraskans.  I wish Tom and his wife Joan the best in his retirement and congratulate Joey Spellerberg on his appointment.”
